TechLink helps the Department of Defense to commercialize leading-edge technologies by partnering DoD Labs with private sector companies for technology licensing, transfer, and research and development.

These technology transfer partnerships can help solve industry problems, create business opportunities, and stimulate economic development.

Use the TechLink site to search for technology available for licensing, patents for a variety of industry areas, technology opportunities and abstracts, information about SBIR and other assistance programs, and for news stories about technology transfer successes. FirstLink, the DoD's National Center of Excellence for First Responder Technology Transfer, located at the University of Pittsburgh, services First Responder needs through supporting the development of commercial pathways between Department of Defense research and private industry.

DTIC

The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC®) is the premier provider of DoD technical information. DTIC serves as a vital link in the transfer of information among DoD personnel, DoD contractors and potential contractors and other U.S. Government agency personnel and their contractors. DTIC’s Scientific and Technical Information Network (STINET) Service helps the DoD community access pertinent scientific and technical information to meet mission needs effectively. STINET is a publicly accessible database containing over 225,000 technical reports.

SpringBoard

SpringBoard provides business and technical assistance to Alaskan companies to help them meet mission-critical DoD needs. SpringBoard helps existing companies identify and screen current and new DoD technologies. SpringBoard works with current and start-up companies to facilitate R&D projects with the DoD.

T2 Bridge

T2Bridge is a technology transfer program designed to leverage innovative technologies and resources for solving defense needs. The program will connect private sector businesses in the southeast United States with Department of Defense (DOD) technologies, research capabilities, and procurement needs.

1401 Technology Transfer Program

Section 1401 of the 2003 Defense Authorization Act required the Secretary of Defense to designate a senior official of the DoD to coordinate all DoD efforts to identify, evaluate, deploy, and transfer to Federal, State, and local first responders technology, items, and equipment in support of homeland security. The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and America’s Security Affairs is the designated senior official, and the 1401 Technology Transfer Program Office executes the mission.

Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEC) of NIST/DoC

MEP is a nationwide network of not-for-profit centers in all 50 States and Puerto Rico, with over 1200 specialists in 440 offices nationwide. The MEP mission is to help U.S. manufacturers compete, prosper and sustain growth in a global economy. MEP serves all manufacturing sectors with consulting expertise and hands-on business and technical assistance. Typical services include business assessments, strategic and operational planning, financial, sales and marketing, new product development, quality systems, lean and six sigma training and initiatives, supply chain integration, workforce development, technology transition and deployment. MILTECH, Dod/AS&C/OTT Transition Partnership Intermediary

MilTech is a member of the DoD/AS&C/OTT Partnership Intermediary Network that specializes in rapid technology transition of military products for the warfighter. MilTech helps small, innovative Defense suppliers overcome business and technology "valley of death" problems by providing expert, hands- on assistance for late-stage product design, manufacturing systems development, prototyping, test and evaluation, product qualification, acquisition and sustainment.
